One lonely little screw still sitting there after you have finished putting the bike back together. Nothing takes the wind out of your sails quite like this does. You can go over the entire bike, review every part you removed, examine every mounting screw, every step, every little thing you touched and there is no sign of where this should go.
Thankfully, I know the secret to locating the exact spot where this goes. Throw it out. Within 24 hours you will find out exactly where it belongs, but keep it forever and you will never know.
